Whoopi Goldberg
Whoopi Goldberg is a celebrated actor, comedian, and television personality. She's one of the few entertainers to win the EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony). Born and raised in New York City, Goldberg burst onto the scene in the 1980s with her groundbreaking one-woman show Whoopi Goldberg which won her a Grammy for Best Comedy Album. She moved on to Hollywood with her breakthrough role in The Color Purple (1985). Throughout the 80s and 90s, she starred in dozens of movies, bringing humor, heart, and humanity to a wide range of characters, while proving herself equally adept at drama and comedy. From her Oscar-winning turn in Ghost (1990) to her blockbuster comedy Sister Act (1992), she became the highest-paid actress at the time.
