Rolling Thunder is a 1977 revenge action film directed by John Flynn and written by Paul Schrader. The story follows Major Charles Rane, played by William Devane, a Vietnam War veteran who returns home after years of brutal captivity. Upon his return, he is presented with a cache of silver dollars as a token of appreciation. However, his newfound peace is shattered when a group of thugs rob his home, taking the silver and violently attacking his family.
