Movie Description
Party Girl is a 1995 indie comedy-drama film directed by Daisy von Scherler Mayer. The film stars Parker Posey as Mary, a free-spirited New Yorker who enjoys her life as the hostess of the most stylish loft parties in the city. However, after she gets arrested for illegally charging admission at one of her parties, Mary is forced to rethink her life's direction. She starts working at a public library, and surprisingly begins to find purpose and enjoyment in her new career. The film combines a humorous depiction of 1990s New York party culture with a heartwarming story about the joys of librarianship.
