Basic Instinct 2 is a 2006 erotic thriller directed by Michael Caton-Jones and serves as a sequel to the 1992 hit movie Basic Instinct. The film continues the story of seductive crime novelist Catherine Tramell (Sharon Stone), now living in London. After a famous soccer star dies in a car accident while with Tramell, she becomes the focus of a criminal investigation led by Dr. Michael Glass (David Morrissey), a criminal psychologist assigned to evaluate her. Despite the danger, Glass is drawn into Tramell's game, leading to a deadly game of cat and mouse. The movie got lousy reviews and was a box office bomb.
