Silent Movies were produced primarily from the late 19th century until the late 1920s, before the widespread advent of synchronized sound in cinema. These movies do not have audible dialogue and rely heavily on visual storytelling through expressive acting and title cards to convey plot and character emotion. To compensate for the lack of spoken dialogue, silent films were often accompanied by live or recorded music to enhance the emotional impact and atmosphere. Many early cinematic innovations were achieved in the silent era, with notable contributions from pioneering directors like D.W. Griffith, Sergei Eisenstein, and Erich von Stroheim. Silent movies also featured major silent film stars like Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Mary Pickford, Rudolph Valentino, John Barrymore, Douglas Fairbanks, Lillian Gish, and Harold Lloyd.
