Jean-Claude Van Damme is a Belgian actor and martial artist known for his exciting and physically demanding action films of the 1980s and 90s. Van Damme began practicing martial arts at a young age and eventually became a professional kickboxer. After a few small movie parts, he achieved success with his leading roles in the hit martial arts films Bloodsport (1988) and Kickboxer (1989). He continued to star in action films throughout the 1990s, cementing his place as one of the most recognizable action stars of the era.
