Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will Be Done is a two part documentary that explores the marriage of Christian Fundamentalism to the extreme right wing of American politics. A British/American co-production, it is quite possibly the most controversial documentary of the year.
By exploring the polarity that exists between the closely held faith in ordinary people and the grim manipulation of that faith by some of the world's most sophisticated political ideologues, director Antony Thomas presents a stark, poignant and sometimes ironically humorous portrait of contemporary America.
Mr. Thomas is no stranger to controversy. His Death of a Princess (1980) nearly severed diplomatic relations between Great Britain and Saudi Arabia. His South African Experience (1978) won a British Academy Award. The Most Dangerous Man Alive; Frank Terpil (1982) won the American Emmy Award for Best Documentary.
